Sight for Sore Eyes
Life’s uncertainties, trials, and prolonged delays often test our patience and belief. However, what God is doing in your life will be a sight for sore eyes, a testimony of His glory unfolding in His perfect time. Though the journey may seem long, His plans are never delayed; they are being perfected.
Abraham is often celebrated as the father of faith, but his journey began with a call to leave his homeland. What many overlook is that his father, Terah, was also called to journey toward Canaan but stopped halfway in Haran. Terah’s delay resulted in an incomplete journey, while Abraham’s obedience, despite the long years of waiting for a promised son, led to the fulfillment of God's covenant. This contrast teaches us that waiting on God requires patience and active faith. Abraham waited twenty-five years for Isaac, yet when the promise came, it was far greater than he could have imagined. His descendants became a mighty nation, and through his lineage, the Messiah was born.
Joseph’s story further illustrates the beauty of waiting on God. Sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and imprisoned for years, Joseph endured what seemed like endless suffering. However, his faith never wavered. Even in prison, God’s favor was upon him. What looked like a series of misfortunes was actually divine preparation. The very prison that confined him became the place where he interpreted dreams, leading to his elevation. In a single moment, God turned his years of waiting into a testimony, positioning him as the second-in-command over Egypt. What seemed like a delay was, in reality, a setup for something far greater than he could have imagined. His story reminds us that waiting on God is not about inactivity but about preparation for a season of extraordinary breakthrough.
The beauty of the process is that waiting on God is never in vain. It is a journey that shapes character, prepares for greater glory, and proves God's faithfulness. What seems like a delay is often a divine setup for something much greater. His promises always come to pass, and when they do, they stand as undeniable testimonies for all to see.
If you are in a season of waiting, take heart. God is working behind the scenes in ways beyond your imagination. Your testimony will be a blessing to you and inspire others to see the greatness of His power. Keep believing. Keep trusting. When the appointed time comes, you will witness the beauty of His plan unfolding in your life.
