The Greatest Privilege Ever Given to Man
One of the most astonishing statements Jesus ever made is found in Matthew 11:11: "Among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." At first glance, this statement seems almost unbelievable. Is Jesus suggesting that the weakest believer in Christ is greater than Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses, Elijah, or even John the Baptist? If so, in what sense? Surely, many believers today do not possess the prophetic depth of Isaiah, the intimacy of Moses, the boldness of Elijah, or the unwavering devotion of John.
