HIS ROD AND STAFF: INGREDIENTS OF COMFORT

The design of God for you is eternally settled. However, you can become what you were not designed to be, once you are not in tune with the word of God. If you are disobeying the injunctions of the word of God and getting away with it as it were, you are surely ready to end in a bad shape. God loves you and has done everything in his power to put you in the right direction. Some of the things you are currently experiencing in terms of hard times and draught may be due to God using his rod on you. The popular chapter of Psalm that you love quoting has one of its verse as thy rod and thy staff comforts me. The staff is meant for leadership and guidance over your life while the rod is for spanking and corrections. God is deliberate in leading you in the right direction by his staff of leadership. He guides you and order your step if you are in close communion with him. The rod is meant to spank you when you are drifting away from the directions of God. It is to bring you back to your senses and calm down your energy for wrong decisions and choices.  You see, God in his wisdom has deliberately programmed  the staff and the rod as instrument to give you comfort as you progress in your making process. If any of both is missing in your life, then you may end shapeless. David Jesse was a man who understood the essence of both rod and staff when he was in his making and manifestation processes. He understood that both of them were meant to bring comfort. Remember he enjoyed the divine leadership of God in every areas of his life and battle as king. But he also enjoyed the spanking of God for his utmost comfort. Young man, when you dwell in error and no one corrects you, beware, you are heading towards destruction. God sent Nathan to him when he took the wife of another and kill same. He was brutally dealt with. He nearly lost his throne. He lost his sons and suffered in the bush for months. This was a serious flogging because God loved him. If you stay through to the staff of God, you may not need the rod. So staying in God under his leadership and guide gives you comfort. You can also conclude like David saying that God's rod and staff are ingredients of comfort. Don't get to where God uses rod on you before yielding to his desires and aligning with his purpose. It is essential you know that you are heading no where once you are away from the staff and rod of God.

The circle of people around you has a huge influence on who you are becoming. Remember, we have discussed that you are becoming what you will become.  No one became anything suddenly. It's a process. While you are becoming what you will become, you need to know that the friends you keep will have a large influence on you. Let me tell you the bitter truth. You cannot be friends with everyone. TRUST GOD EVEN IF IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE
