Becoming the Man God Sees

The plan of God for your life will surely come to pass. That much is certain, not because of your strength but because of His faithfulness. Yet, the fulfilment of destiny is never automatic. It demands your partnership, making the right decisions as He guides, cultivating the grace and gifts He has deposited in you, and growing intentionally through the relationships He orchestrates. Often, God takes His chosen ones through seasons of obscurity, not to punish them but to prepare them. In those desert seasons, He places certain men around them, strategic voices, mentors, and friends whose roles are to shape, refine, and even provoke growth. These are not random encounters. They are divine alignments meant to build you for the weight of the future you have been called to carry. David’s life is a compelling example. Though anointed by the prophet Samuel to be king, he did not ascend the throne the next day. Instead, he returned to the field, tending sheep, confronting lions and bears, and...

Phinehas, the Father of Ichabod: A Lament for a Generation that Has Lost the Glory

In the annals of sacred history, the name Ichabod stands as a grim monument, its meaning bitter and unmistakable: “The glory has departed.” But to understand the weight of this declaration, one must look beyond the child and gaze upon the father. Phinehas, priest by title, was called to serve at the altar of the Most High, yet he became a vessel of shame, desecration, and spiritual fraud. And now, like a poisoned root that corrupts the tree, his legacy lives on, not just in Ichabod, but in the many Ichabods birthed by the Phinehases of our day. Phinehas and his brother Hophni were priests, sons of Eli, entrusted with the sacred duties of interceding before the Lord for the people. But instead of offering incense, they offered insolence. Instead of reverence, they showed rebellion. The altar became a place of greed and lust, defiled by their insatiable appetites for the flesh, both the sacrificial and the sensual. Women who came to the tabernacle seeking God left abused. Offerings broug...

The Hophni and Phinehas of Our Generation: A Call to Reverence for the Sacred

In times past, the altar of God stood as a place of sacred encounter, a dwelling of holiness, fire, and consecration. Men approached it with trembling hearts, knowing it was not a stage but a sanctuary, not a theatre but a throne room. But alas, what do we see today? The altar has become a mere platform of performance, a place of manipulation and mockery. The fire still burns, but many no longer feel it. The glory lingers, but we have grown blind to it. We are living in a time where the sins of Hophni and Phinehas have reappeared, this time dressed in clerical robes, surrounded by bright lights and broadcast online. These were the sons of Eli, priests by ordination but corrupt by heart. They desecrated the offerings of the Lord, abused their positions, and brought disgrace upon the priesthood. Scripture tells us they "had no regard for the Lord" They slept with women at the very door of the tent of meeting. And today, their spirit lives on. The modern-day pulpit is increasin...
