None Is First, None Is Last

In the grand scheme of destiny, no one is first, and no one is last. The fulfillment of purpose is not a race in which one must outpace another, nor is it a ranking system where early success guarantees superiority. Purpose is divine, intricately woven into God's eternal plan, unfolding at His appointed time.

Life often tempts us to measure ourselves against others, to assess our progress by the achievements of those around us. But divine purpose does not conform to human timetables. Some are called to walk in the fullness of their purpose early in life, while others are divinely prepared for a later manifestation.

Moses led Israel out of Egypt but never stepped into the Promised Land. His assignment was to pioneer the deliverance, yet it was Joshua who brought the people into the land of promise. If Joshua had compared his journey to Moses’, he might have despised his own timing. But God’s orchestration is sovereign. What appeared to be an ending for one was only the beginning for another. The handover was not a failure, it was divine continuity.

John the Baptist understood this principle profoundly. His mission was to prepare the way for Jesus, yet when the Messiah emerged, he willingly stepped back, saying, “He must increase, but I must decrease”. His fulfillment was not in being the center of attention but in completing his divine assignment. His impact was not measured by longevity but by alignment with purpose.

So, young man, do not be deceived by the illusion of competition. Your purpose is not tied to another’s pace. Your fulfillment is not in surpassing others but in walking in obedience to God’s design. Some will shine in the morning of their lives, while others will be revealed in the evening. Abraham waited decades for Isaac; David was anointed as a boy but ascended the throne years later.

Stop measuring your progress by human standards. If you compare your season of preparation to another’s season of manifestation, you may become frustrated and disillusioned. Trust God’s process. No one is truly ahead, and no one is truly behind. None is first, none is last, only those who are faithful to their divine assignment will be counted as fulfilled in eternity.

Stay in your lane. Trust His timing. Run your race with patience.
